Khaki's however, are much lighter and while they can be used for meat they do make for a smaller dinner then the Pekin. They only get to be about 3-5lbs full grown. They are pretty much all brown, from their feet to their heads. This breed was developed in England at the turn of the 20th century. They are a cross breed between Rouen, Mallard and Runner ducks. On average, the females lay 300 eggs per year.
Since my trio of Khaki's is so darn predictable, I decided to post a little clip on our YouTube channel to show that yes, they do fly. In fact, they fly quite well.
