Tee Hee--- I have a question... I have 1 Roo and 4 hens... FBlCopper Marans..They are now 7 months old.. At about 6 months a couple of them had started laying an egg.. For a week or more I got them everyday then it started raining here 5-6 days straight.(DO NOT know IF this would have caused them to stop) At any rate..... Then NO EGGS at all!!!!!! I am sad over this!!! I know they are fed well and get clean bedding,a personal house where they lay clean water, layer pellets!!! are they just late sters on laying, or what???? I cant understand the PROBLEM OR figure out what more I can do!!!!!! Thanks so much for any info!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne! There are a lot of reasons that may be why your hens stopped laying, but the most probable cause is that the days are very short now. Most hens stop laying until the daylight hours get longer in the spring. The rain is most likely just a coincidence!
